Where do you even start? I mean seriously, what on earth is left for breakfast if you can’t have toast and cereal, and how do you even begin to pack a school lunch without sandwiches?

I totally get it, and I’m here to offer you courage, companionship and support. My youngest daughter was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s the week of her 8th birthday.

Our whole world was turned upside down in that one moment. But I knew that as her Mum, it was up to me to nurture my gorgeous girl back to health.

I soon realised just how common autoimmune diseases are, and how little support there really is for people and their families experiencing this. No-one seems to understand or appreciate the impact it has on the entire family. Whilst doctors can be

wonderful with prescribing medication, they aren’t trained in nutrition or lifestyle modifications that can really improve the outcome of these illnesses.

We removed gluten, dairy & soy from her diet, and Oh My Goodness, what a difference it made!

Gone was the aggressive, violent and irrational child, and our beautiful, generous, caring little girl came back to us.

We made sure her diet was as nutrient dense as possible,

and could not believe how much she improved. Within 12 months, she had gone from being an angry, chronically constipated, and sickly child who suffered severe chronic fatigue, to being an outgoing happy child picking up academic awards AND participating in afterschool and weekend sport!​ A year later, our other daughter was also diagnosed, but armed with my professional knowledge and personal experience, we have been able to keep her off medication completely!

At the start of our journey, I felt so scared and overwhelmed. I was fortunate in that I knew that a gluten, dairy & soy-free diet was the biggest thing I could do to improve their health, but I had no idea of where to start or what to eat. My passion now is supporting others making the transition from chronic illness to health. As a qualified Nutritional Medicine Practitioner, Clinical Herbalist, and best-selling author of Help!
